Server Server bans

When having to unban someone from a server it is useless to know his unique id. I have always to try and redo unbans. It would be nice not only to see user's steamid (which btw doesn't show up anyway), but also the nickname at the moment of the ban.

Or use B3 which takes care of keeping track of names and IDs for you!

Is B3 something I can upload to a gameserver I'm renting from a GSP and have it running 24/7 with the blessing of the GSP? Will the GSP have to install it or OK my using it? Or would I have to run it on a remote computer? I like the features and have perused the website and forums somewhat, but I'm not quite sure of the mechanics of how it works.

@puggy
In looking throught their forums, from what I understand its functional but perhaps with limited features in RO2 (ie. not all of the plugins). I could be wrong. I did see it running on the 10-78 server.

Ah, I didn't understand the "hosted" part. I thought those were GSP's that offered it as a service if you rented from them. Those are GSP's that offer B3 as a service regardless of where your server is.... is that correct?

Why not make a new topic with B3 as the title. It might generate more traffic among other admins here. (which reminds me, I need to check-in over at fpsadmin.com)

Bravo17,

I know you have been doing some good work in the B3 and RO2 area, is Red Orchestra 2 now working with B3? Has the work/mod been released for public consumption yet?

It does not seem to be a supported game on http://www.bigbrotherbot.com

There are a few servers running it, as can be seen in the B3 Master Server list. The functionality is limited, but warning, banning etc works.

It's not in the main download yet, it is in my repo though, details can be found here:

It needs to be run as a 'source code package'.

Yes, your server and B3 do not have to be on the same machine. In fact you can run b3 on your home computer, but that means that you would have to leave it on all the time.

I was waiting until it got into the main B3 downloads before making a more formal announcement.

I'm sorry, can't find anything on that thread. Would you give me links for all the files and plugins I need and explain step by step how to install it? I have full access to the server.
