The Boston Globe has a feature called The Big Picture, typically a collection of about 30 photos around an event (nuclear reactor accident) or a theme (some cool photos involving the sun). The latest involves pictures of Libya.
I was stuck by how closely the remnants of urban fighting in Photo #2 resembled Stalingrad (in-game and history).

I fully realize there's a difference between a section of a city looking like that, and a whole city looking like that, or that other modern cities (e.g., Grozny) have been similarly mangled. Just thought htis might be of interest.
