River Patrol Force Units

If it hasn't already been suggested, I think having a river patrol force would be awesome. They could take the place of aircraft on specific maps and transport troops up and down the river and also support the land forces from the shoreline. Patrolling up and down rivers, shooting at Charlie.

It could also bring that level of Apocalypse Now feel to the game.

There was going to be, but then it all fell apart because my coding and modeling is absolute garbage and broke the entire game every time.

So unless someone actually competent redoes everything from scratch, boats will forever be nothing but a dream.

This statement is not necessarily true. during a stream when the game was in development I had asked them if there would be character customization. They replied "There are no plans to have character customization, we are not sure why people want it so much." So one can still have hope for PBRs and the Rivel Patrol Force.

When was this, 2015? Customization was added at the very beginning of the closed alpha, and it was assuredly in development a long time before that. So by that logic we should expect patrol boats in 2020.

Not sure when it was, all I know is that I asked during a Q/A Stream, perhaps they were just trying to hide it, who knows. Im sure once other things are out of the way though, the option is surely on the table.
