Rifleman class

Hi, been away a while from the forums and i would like to know if in RO2 still are limited classes and open rifleman classes, the last thing i would like to see is 25 guys running around with mgs.

I'm preparing myself for the possibility that unlike RO1, this will be the case in RO2.

Sure, classes have limits, but now every class has a plethora of weapons with corresponding upgrades to choose from. So I expect even riflemen to end up spawning with a 'less than standard issue' weapon.

Everybody gets pistols as well, go figure.

Could you care to specify the plethora of weapons per class?

As I understand it, There will be at least several different weapons per class. With alot of rarely used or prototype weapons added. Things like bayonets and larger magazines are unlockable, as are weapons from the opposing faction, which I think is possibly the most lame of all.

Also, every class gets a pistol, but it's an unlockable.

The way I understood it, a rifleman will only get perks, bayonet, and maybe different clips (stripper or indie bullets) Pistol would probably be the best unlock.

rifleman isn't going to unlock a ultra rare automatic rifle like the AVT, that is reserved for heroes I believe.

Also the pistol thing doesn't bother me that much, as a veteran rifleman would surely pick up trophies and weapons along the way. Watch "Band of Brothers" one of the soldiers was obsessed with getting a lugar pistol.

When you say it like that, it doesn't seem like a very big deal, agree.

I do think the fact you can spawn with weapons from the opposite team is pretty lame, though.

But it was not common practice to use enemy weapons in live battles for the fear of being mistaken for the enemy. Im not sure at this point if i should cancell my preorder.

I dont agree it brekas immersion and it was not common practice, sure in a battalion a soldier or two could pick up a ppsh and use it but not a whole batallion running around with enemy weapons, makes no sense.

The germans refitted the PPSH-41 to fire 9mm parabellum, i'm sorry if real world history goes against your views of 'common practice' infact half the time the German army didn't bother refitting them as the 7.62 mauser rounds were so similiar to the 7.62 tokarev that the PPSH had no problem firing them. Now your immersion isn't broken lets stop complaining about things that happened :D
