Revision of Stumble and Penetration Mechanics. Penetration and Stumble power must be proportional to the caliber of the weapon.

It was terribly illogical to give penetration to pistols and shotguns, this weapon should have the best stopping effect, but from the point of view of even fantastic ballistics --- the ammunition of these types of weapons has no penetration in any way. Yes, the Zeds don't get hurt and caliber is critical in damaging their bodies.

but pistols and shotguns show poor results in penetrating armor <<<<----------------

rifles and assault rifles, on the other hand, have good armor penetration, but due to calibers there will be less damage and stumbling

---yes this is a global change of mechanics but it's interesting

What I think he's getting at is that all the weapons should have their stumble and penetration power redone to reflect real-world values.

Which would not only be a complete pain for the team to do, but is a terrible idea on its face because the game and its perks are balanced around those current values for a reason.

Just as an example: Would anyone have a reason to pick Support if their shots didn't penetrate Zeds? It would literally just be useful for Doomsticking Scrakes/Fleshpounds and literally worthless beyond that.

The point isn't that it's completely real-world accurate; the point is that it contributes mechnically in a way that makes classes both unique and balanced between each other. For example, Commando would literally be the best class in the game if you updated the AK, SCAR, Stoner, and Minigun to reflect real-world gun power. Not even a contest. Just fire through Zeds and sweep the cursor.
