Panzerfausting is so unsatisfying.

I love the panzerfaust but it's so unsatisfying to destroy tanks with.

Firstly the effect of a panzerfaust exploding on the ground or on a tank is non-existant. Please put a small explosion affect on it.

Secondly the sound of a Panzerfaust shell smacking in to armour plate is rubbish. It sounds like someone blowing.

It should be a nice loud metalic crack type of sound.

If you could add those that would make the panzerfaust experiance absolutely perfect.

WTH, I find hunting tanks one of the MOST amazing parts of RO, its incredably invigorating to sneak up on a tank and take it out .

Fausts do have an explosion effect....

Yeah I suspected as such but there should atleast be an effect of some sort for eye candy purposes. Nothing huge, mind.

Anyway as long as they add a nice loud metalic crack to a rocket hitting armour it will make panzerfausting 10x more satisfying.

I agree with you though, some nice sound/effect would be really cool, but I find it satishfying enough to take out a entire tank/crew with just a panzerfaust

I kinda get what he's saying, I guess this is more of a plea from a special effects junkie, which I totally understand. Maybe in the future once they get all the bugs and big problems out of the way, this could be added as a side bonus, who knows.

Even more satisfying than tanks is the BA. Nothing like one rushing head on to run you down, and you hold the shot for just a moment to think to youself "ah, that's a dead BA" and then let them have it.

There are particle explosions when the panzerfaust shell hits the ground or a tank. There is one actually for different surfaces also, like hitting dirt, wood, concrete, snow, etc...

I know the Engine will sometimes cull out effects to preserve framerate, maybe that's what is happening on your system.

I have NEVER seen that particle explosion before. Really odd. I use the faust so often that I thought there was none because every time I've used it, it never showed up.

try changing MinDesiredFrameRate to a low number, like 1-10, in RedOrchestra.ini....then the engine shouldn't drop eye candy to keep a decent framerate...

i think the metallic clunk noise used is also very realistic.

sounds to me like you'd prefer "hollywood" realism

The Panzerfaust warhead isn't just a really big grenade, it's specifically designed to punch through armour. So a smaller explosion is right.

As with above, it's not exactly "smashing" into tanks, so a more 'tinned' sound effect is right, too.
