Server No images work for welcome screen

Things tried:

512x256
8, 16, 32 bit channels
read only/ not read only files
https and http web hosts
put into images file and hosted there
re opened image in paint, gimp, images and resaved
opened default banner and edited,
renamed image to MOTDServer,
renamed image without spaces, one word no caps, no numbers
complete server reset
stopped server, changed KFGame.ini Banner=, then started
changed webadmin welcome banner and then hit change game button
crying

The default banner works, but ANY allteration or different image immediatly causes the MOTD to dissapear
The default banner works in /images/, DID work, but then it suddenly stopped working
The default banner web link DID work, but then it suddenly stopped working

The image is ALWAYS displayed in web admin

Why is this so hard? This is a very basic thing to setup, why not just have a reference to a folder for the welcome banner? That seems a lot more robust than this nonsense, which is just needlessly complex.

I recall having a very difficult time with this on my server when I had one running... and it's been a while and I forget what the work around was.

I agree, it seems like something that should be much simpler to set up.

I am also having this same issue. I have tried all the same things that Vertical Loop has tried. In my cpanel the image shows up fine, but if I link anything other than the default image url, my welcome does not show at all. Does it need to be hosted a specific way?

Open the default image in a reliable image editor, edit it, save, it should work if you didn't alter the size/ratio of the image, or the inner settings of the file (bit depth, things like that).
Note that the image would show only after a change map in game.

You probably saved it with not the original settings.
