When we think ManEater, we probably automatically connect the dots to the original Hungry Shark or Jaws Unleashed but are those connections REALLY accurate? The past interview panel shedded light on this very subject and the results may surprise you...

At the interview panel the devs stated some very specific movie inspirations for the creation of ManEater. The main inspirations were listed as such:

+Jaws 2

+Orca

+The Shallows

What is one thing you notice about these movies, one thing which they all have in common?

That's right, they are all revenge films essentially. Let's take a deep dive into the films to explore shark motives and how each film handled these complex ideas differently...

• Jaws 2
- Jaws 2 is a sequel to the most popuoar shark movie in cinema history, in which a shark tries to exact revenge on the person who killed the original shark in the first movie. We see even a brutalized scene in which the shark is doused in gasoline and set ablaze, it's a creepy moment in shark cinema history!

• Orca: The Killer Whale
- Even though it's not a "shark" movie, it still highly inspired the devs when creating their vision for ManEater. It's a must watch as it tells a story of fishermen who kill the killer whale's family, from there, the animal tracks each murderer and kills them one by one and in strategic ways.

• The Shallows
- The history about the shark in this movie is a bit more bleak but there is actually a scene in which Nancy looks at the shark and discovers that the shark was a victim of a tragic attack by man. She says "They got you..." and learns that the shark was out for revenge, specifically on humans.

If yoy haven't watched any of these creature features, I recommend you do, even better if you can manage to see them before ManEater's awesome release!
