'ello. I've done a search but couldn't find anything. Basically the situation is this:

I'm a member of a [small - ~20-35] LAN gaming club and, as you can see, also a large fan of RO:O. However unfortunately, the main games played at the LAN are CSS, BF2 and DoW *vomit* and I'm having trouble smacking decent games into their skulls.

Although I've been marginally successful in escorting people through the recent free trial, there have only been minimal actual purchases. Thus it got me thinking: would it be possible to obtain LAN-wide RO keys/account extensions for the duration of the LAN weekend so I can get them all playing and possibly spawn some new ROPlayers? :p

yeah, this is a problem. i used to go on LAN parties every 3 months, but now that im into RO, i cant show others how it is, as there is no internet connection there, and showing ro in offline mode is not the best thing to show off ;)

i don't like LAN parties anymore, CS-COD2-CS-COD2-CS-COD2-CS-COD2-CS-COD2-CS-COD2-CS-COD2-CS-COD2-CS-COD2-CS-COD2-CS-COD2-CS-COD2-CS-COD2-CS-COD2-CS-COD2-CS-COD2-CS-COD2-CS-COD2-CS-COD2-CS-COD2-CS-COD2-CS-COD2- makes me wanna go home and play RO!

Here in PC Bang, Kelowna. I have been doing my best to get people leaning into ROO. A lot like the game, but debate on the difficulty of learning, which I don't disagree. Some could most certainly see that as a turn off from learning. Fortunately the Computers here all have their own copy of steam, and as such, their own copy of ROO. We could easily get nearly 60 Computers going pure ROO. <Drool.> Instead, it's CSS (due to all the kiddy nubcakes), WCIII DoTA, Oblivion, Fable, and the really petty people that just sit back and pay to use a PC to either to play WoW which they also have to continually pay for, or even worse... RUNESCAPE. <Shudder.>

Anyway, I believe I slipped off point. The best you can do is just play the game around people. They'll see how interesting it is, and try it out.

Here in Montreal... LAN places are SWORMING like ZERG....

Sadly... they are all idiots and lack serious quality.

Example... a chain called Battlenet24 opened.

I only see stuff like CS, CS:S, DOD, DOD:S, BF-Desert Combat, Starcraft, Generals-ZH with LAG...

Fancy cases with neon lights on them...
Geforce4MX440 videocard...

Sure... put money on a good looking case and save money on videocards...

On top of it... I have seen pings of 200 in a CS1.6 LAN GAME
C&C Generals cant handle more then 4...

SO I am guessing cheep Switch over Switch over Switch...
You need a Solid internet, a good firewall such as a Watchguard Firebox and a Quality 48Port Switch

They also had a mix of Windows XP and Windows Millenium... (soo damn wrong)

I just want to SLAP THEM SILLY.... but in reality... I hope they all keep going in that direction.

My goal is to make enough money selling Toner to then borrow from the Bank and open the ONE LAN PLACE TO RULE THEM ALL. (Insert Dr.Evil Laugh)

Wont be too hard since I will offer most IT Related services such as brand name computers and Toner for companies, clone computers for gamers... support

And Considering my Career choice... I know what the hell I am doing unlike all them Idiots out there opening Crap with Crap Quality and Crap Planning and Crap Networks and on top they ONLY depend on the LAN...

So far... yes, this post is all talk.
At least I have realistic goals to work on.

As for the original Thread auther's question... I am also interested in knowing if its possible

Sadly there is no feature of steam that would allow this that I know of. However you can try and contact valve about a temporary cafe license or something like that.

I'll look into that. There's a decent potential market among hardcorish gamers that could net a decent amount of sales. Would be nice to have them all playing it with myself and the other RO:O player [only 2 :D] 'walking them through it' so to speak.
