Just Bought RO and looking for some advice.

Gday i noticed that RO was $5 on steam and decided to take advantage of this offer. I have run into an issue with the ingame browser as it is not returning any servers at all . I also live in Australia so im not sure if that affects anything.

So i have a few questions:

-Do people still play RO or do they play mods.
-Is there some settings i should change for better results on servers.
-A website with a list of active servers?
-It looks like there isn't any active Australian servers would i be able to enjoy playing RO on American servers or would it be to laggy?

Any help would be greatly appreciated

welcome, in the ingame browser you can select the kind of servers you look for.
make sure it is set on "internet", i think that at first it's always set on "local" or "lan"
don't worry there are plenty of players playing, maybe less on austraian servers but they will be happy to see you!

There is one Japanese and one server located in china.

I don't think it would be too lagy in US servers as long as its West Coast US. The good thing with ro is that even with high ping it still is very playable.

the reason you didn't see anything when clicking the internet tab is that recently it has taken a while (up to a minute) for the server list to be populated, just go into RO and select the internet tab then wait, they should eventually pop up, and when they do add most to your favorites so that you don't have to wait on the list again

If that doesn't sort the problem, could be your firewall?

You will have around a 200 ping on US servers.

Stick with a bolt action until you know how to play.

Learn the maps, where to nade, where the capzones are, and where the spawns are.

Once you can play any map using a bolt, then start using autos, tanks, and other important classes.

My best advise....pick a Rifle, learn how to shoot, learn the maps, and be aware of what going on around you! Have fun.. and remember, its just a game..so welcome to RO.

g'day kodiac, there is still a descent amount of people playing in aus, there's the one gamearena server that gets played on but only in the evening usually from around 7pm onwards..this server was absent over the weekend due to some problems, as a result the small 20 player gamespace server was full last night with a lot of new players which was nice to see. Also most regular players have been trying out the DH mod which just got released..i'm hoping most jump back on regular RO this week so the new players get a good taste of how great this game gets. You can use the steam browser as well, just set the filter to only show Red Orchestra servers, it seems to refresh much faster
