2mb where were you living in the deepest darkest India?
2mb was standard in 2005 for me at-least, good to hear you have sorted it out though. I'm on around 12mb and still have problems in game because it's mostly server end, i used to blame my connection but it was the servers i was trying to join that were the problem.

I recently changed ISP and now receive 50MBps Down and 8MBps up. Averaging 60MBps Down on speed tests.

Bout the same for me, in reality I pull 50-60 Mbps down and about 5-10 up. Comcast tells me I get 1gbps down though!

With its vast countryside, I wouldn't be surprised if the good old US of A had the worst interenet speeds per user than most countries. Though speeds may suck for many, at least most don't have throttled ports or capped bandwidth.....yet.
Of course satellite is an option...but not for an fps....

in my area (cluster of villages) the available bandwiths are pretty random, ranging from 1mb to 32mb, depending on the street you live in. we are supposed to get 25-50mb at some point, but i apprehend it will happen when 500mb are the average everywhere else
