Excellent Syk, one thing I'd like to emphasize... that the mappers provide a link to the MAP itself, not a server running the map for a number of reasons but primarily to expedite the entire procedure.

When I asked about the RO-Ambush OST Final map download link, on 29, June ..that's the answer I got. I'm certain we will get to see it soon. Like for most of us, "RL" gets in the way sometimes.

For this or any reference list to be a viable resource, cooperation is the utmost ingredient. Thankfully, we have that.

Why do You zip both map file and compressed version in one archive instead of packing them in two individual files?

Where the hell do custom maps get d/l'd and saved in Steam??

I'd like to delete the ones I don't enjoy, but I can't seem to find them anywhere inside my RO folders in steam.

In Cache folder, in red orchestra folder, in Steam folder.

extract it, you use gCacheManager.exe (Google search)

Or you just look in the cache.ini file to see which filenumbers represent which names.

Eg.

Blablaverymuchcachenumbersandletters = RO-RandomCustom.rom

Rename the Blablaverymuchcachenumbersandletters file in the cache folder to RO-RandomCustom.rom and throw it in your maps folder

They stayed too. They were not there just to get the map. That's a good thing.

I recompile all my custom map installers with new maps path:
<steam install path>\SteamApps\common\

Red.Orchestra.pl custom maps (now is 31 maps in 46 version - installer: exe, compressed: tgz, zip and uz2).

Butch, actually the original author of Orel_beta1 is away in China on a trip for 4 weeks. He left early last week.

I appreciate the kind words and support. The most important thing for me is a well known, old adage... the "kiss" principle. The less confusing, the better.

My server script parse name of map automaticaly. If name not have suffix -b#, -beta#, _b#, _beta# or sth, script think that map is Final version.

Unfortunately, game server admins will rename map to any name
