I have a similar situation to others in this forum. When I try to play The Ball, the game will start the first level and then after a minute or so, my entire computer will lock up and I have to press the reset switch. I have tried 3 times to play the game, and each time it has frozen at a slightly different point:
- First time it froze when the screen goes black after zooming in on a silhouette of archaeologists on a mountainside.
- The second time I tried, it got as far as picking up the hammer/attractor thing, and
- Third time, just now, I got as far as hitting the blue button with the hammer before it froze.

I have absolutely no trouble playing Batman: Arkham Asylum, which also uses the Unreal 3 engine.
Naturally I'm pretty disappointed that this game I have paid good money for, not only doesn't work, but completely freezes my PC forcing me to do a reset!
