This game is shaping up and looking like a pretty good WWII RTS. All terrain is destructible (if you have the right weapon) and infantry units use tactical movements. Graphics look fantastic even in these low resolution videos:

Here's the gamespy preview:

It's probably not going to be completely realistic, but it's been awhile since a decent WWII RTS has come out. Word is it'll be out September of 2006, but that's tenative of course.

Infantry shooting tanks with rifles is a turnoff in for me.
Still might buy it tho.
Yarrrr. :p
The rifle fire on the tank didn't seem like it was doing any damage at all. The infantry was using (ineffective) cover fire to retreat from the Tiger. In any case, I know I for one would be taking potshots before I ran if I saw a giant tank less than 10 feet away and had nothing to take it out with.

Remember, this game is from the same team that created Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War (Relic Studios), and is based on the next generation of the DoW engine. It has some interesting elements for sure, but I will have to wait and see how it turns out. My experience testing for DoW and Winter Assault don't make me all that eager to buy it, honestly.

It's ok, dont want to get off topic here, but in Winter Assualt, they've seemed to dumb it down a little, Units like the predator can no longer be upgraded and just come as they are, Choas Marines can only have two heavy bolters, many Imperial guard units that should and have upgrades in TT don't.

Other than that it's pretty good. I'd recommend trying the demo before you buy.
