Bayonet suggestion

Well,I was just bored at school and this came to mind,why not make,instead of having to put the bayo on your weapon(Im not saying this should be removed), you can just take it out of the holder/whatever and use it as a knife.Ofcourse, damage would be reduced,but maybe when you attack from the back its a
1-shot-1-kill weapon?
What do you think guys?

I thought about that before too because of seeing how the Kar bayonet looked exactly like a knife. I can't imagine the Nagant bayonet workign to well as a knife though.

Yeah,thats true...but still,since Im crap with bayo,this would be cool

In battle, I doubt you would have a lot of time to sling your gun and take out a knife.. let alone the point where it came to this would be fairly rare. In addition, I would just rather use my gun and beat people with it than bother with a knife. I just don't see the point of anyone using a knife.

Maybe cause its impossibly hard to hit someone with the bayo or butt of the rifle? Its far easier to wound them with a slash attack...

Orrr, just change the ingame radius of attack in meleeing? Then a knife will be unnecessary. It's much easier to hit someone with a large gun than a puny knife.

I am good enough as a bayo as it is. But imaging having to get within punching range of someone because you didn't secure the bayonet to your rifle to add a couple feet distance. I would rather save the strength and put it on my rifle.

It would be good to pull out your bayo, if your unbayoed weapon gets shot out of your hand. Just seems like it would be better than being completely helpless.

Yeah,thats a point too,but the "puny knife" would be great if you for example sneaked behind your enemy and your bayo is unattached or,simply because its pretty hard to kill someone with it
