Actual Platoon Loadouts

I think it would be a huge addition to immersion if loss of key "platoon weapons" had an impact on a team, as it would irl.

Platoons did not have an endless supply of LMG and HMG units. Thus, their employment was conservative, and strategic instead of immediately applicable to the tactical situation.

I realize the game has to be fun too, but a MG spawning after it dies everytime seems a bit a-historical.

The MG could remain on the map where it was when the carrier of it got shot, and as you suggest it would not be able to be respawned in. Make it so the team takes good care of the weapon.

And players spawning ever few seconds would be ok?

Nice suggestion, but I don't think I would like it in RO.

It would work nice in a large scale game like ArmA though.

As rifles? Sure, why not? It was the main population of rifle platoons...
