Squad [2.FJg]

16 AUG 2013 Update:

Hi all -- after some on-the-fly adjustments and MCP map issues we've settled on a single HOS TE server (with loads of custom maps) and a single RS TE server. Unfortunately, despite interest within the clan, the HOS/RS Mixed server just did not pan out for the time being.

We're also running the HUD mutator and will definitely take a hard look at the new S&D mod coming out -- so stay tuned!!

Again, we welcome any and all constructive feedback here or on our website.

Have a nice day and see you in the crosshairs :IS2:

Good news!

The Search and Destroy mod has been released officially for RO2 and RS maps. We have converted our CD server to the S&D server running all of the available maps HOS and RS included. (OP changed with updated info)

Due to the way how MCP maps are done, they cannot be converted into S&D without the client having to download the full maps all over again.

The server IP is: 70.42.74.112:7777 ([2.FJg] S&D - Tactical Realism)

Provide feedback here (# rounds, etc) or on our forums: www.2fjgclan.com

We're trying to build a population for this gametype. We'll try to be on the server from around 16:00 EST(21:00 GMT), though we'll probably have more members on around 20:00 EST(00:00 GMT). Come join us if you like good tactical play.

The 2.FJg servers have been updated to this new, official content update: Island Assault!

The pack includes the following new features for the games:

Multiplayer Campaign Mode is an all new paradigm in multiplayer FPS games – more than just a game type, it ties the game types and individual matches together into a campaign that can keep you occupied for hours. This gives the multiplayer game more depth than ever before, as individual matches now matter for the overall victory or loss in the MP campaign. Both sides battle it out to control territories on a large scale battle map, voting on which territories to attack, whether to attempt to take more territory, or to defend and try to grind down the enemy's resources. We like to say it is like a “meta-game" of Risk. This features both Stalingrad and Pacific Theater campaigns.

All new level: Betio. The tiny island of Betio was the scene of the heaviest fighting during the Battle of Tarawa in November 1943, the first major US amphibious offensive of the Pacific Theater. The map here recreates the push of the US 2nd Marine Division across the devastated island against their counterparts in the 6th Special Naval Landing Force (the Japanese 'Marines') as the US forces attempt to disable key tactical objectives such as naval guns and transmitter stations. The map favors desperate pitched defenses and assaults at all costs.

Two new weapons, one for Rising Storm and one for Red Orchestra 2. Red Orchestra 2 gets the PPS-42 submachine gun. Born out of desperation during the siege of Leningrad, the PPS-42 provides the Russians with a powerful, lightweight SMG option. For Rising Storm, the Japanese get the Type 97 sniper rifle. More accurate than the existing Type 99 sniper rifle, this weapon gives the Japanese another way to reach out and touch their enemies.
Classic Mode Refinements. While Rising Storm and Red Orchestra 2 are considered by many to be one of the most hardcore shooters out there, the hardcore among the fan base have been clamoring for something even more extreme and authentic. The fans have asked and we've answered with further refinements to Classic Mode (the most hardcore gameplay mode in RS/RO2). We've made player movement changes, as well as aiming and recoil changes to make it more difficult to keep your aim on enemies resulting in longer and more intense firefights.

Full changelog is here: http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=95378

*** We have also launched our new CAMPAIGN SERVER!

The IP: 70.42.74.114

Be sure to check the forums for future updates, and join us in breaking in this new update and server! To the frontlines soldiers!

See ya on the field,
The 2.FJg Team

What do you think about enabling kill notifications for other players in S&D server? Sometimes I don't even hear gunshots if they are far away, and only tactical view shows diminushing numbers of friends and foes :) Also, I'm pretty sure I saw periferal view indicators (first time ever in this game) on S&D server, is that on purpose?

Due to the intensity and suspense created by self-notifications only, I doubt we will enable all kill notifications. Although, having said that, we entirely understand your point and will take it under consideration.

Peripheral indicators are hard-wired into the game code and cannot be disabled on Realism. We've always had them on all our servers since launch.

We had to pull the Classic server due to lack of interest by public players. Please join the above-linked steam group & we'll try to organize Classic games to bolster server population in the hopes of propagating the new classic mode.

Essentially, it's poorly titled (Classic) and folks just are ignorant and seem disinterested in the new version. Perhaps it would be worthwhile to sell it as Hardcore Realism or something...a mode title that exudes manliness.

Adenru.

Actually, looks like it IS disabled (Peripheral Whips under Settings/Gameplay/Clan Match) on the WebAdmin for all servers. It's an unchangeable setting under Realism.

Thoughts on why they are still showing up? I think we'd prefer they not.
They are ON by default on realism servers, irrc.

You can change to custom and take them off. You don't necessarily have to change anything else. Servers will still be ranked.
