@mat69 you are incorrect there is a distinct difference sturmgewehr refers to assault rifle gewehr refers to rifle/battle rifle ( K-98, G-43, G-3, AK-4, Mosin, SVT-40,FN-FAL, L1A1, Garand, M14, Fedorov Avtomat etc... )

that would make it a battle rifle such as the FN-FAL, G3A3 etc. rifles that fire full sized rifle cartridges with provisions for full auto fire. the avtomat would also be a battle rifle, because it fires a full sized rifle cartridge.
