I think that if you land a parry, the retraction animation should be sped up so you can parry another attack quickly. If you miss a parry, the retraction speed stays the same, or maybe it could be slightly slower than the current animation so that parrying is riskier and can't be spammed.

I use the right tree except for massacre (but I'll possibly change when massacre is fixed). I use the katana for trash, and pulverizer for large zeds or CC if I get cornered or need to just blow stuff up and GTFO. Just bait a parry, swing with the katana until screen isn't tinted red, parry...
