Interesting combos, I wish I tried them out at the time. Can't remember if the husk cannon existed when I was a level 2/3 zerker. Never tried it off perk.
Bullpup is useless for HoE.
Having an M79 is fun, and kiting as a demo on for wave one on HoE is fun too.
I like the handcannon/MK23 as a zerker if on a tight map, quicker to remove a group of crawlers.
When the ammo was cheaper *shakes fist at TWI for spoiling his fun*, M99 and machete used...
HACKS!
When you play enough there's no need for the tape.
As a purist you shouldn't use it and gain the skill.
Either way with the tape you'll end up with sticky stuff on your screen, why would you want that?
When I was a low level zerk on suicidal I would soften up the Scrake without raging them, then find a long straight section of the map to LAR it's head off. Sometimes I'd decap it before it got to me, otherwise usually two hits with the katana (you get one flinch). Otherwise it got a bit...
I don't have all the DLC weapons, but I mostly used the standard weapons. Some of the DLC weapons are only cosmetic or very similar to others for the same perk.
I could be wrong, but I've only really noticed complaints about the Buzzsaw bow being an over powered DLC weapon. The M99 has got a...
I liked the M99 back when it was a separate mod. The ammo price may now be excessive, but making it lighter! No matter what I think to the current balance level making it lighter is crazy in terms of balance. I think if anything make it an extra one block heavier so you cannot carry pipe bombs.
Which script are you using? steam.sh or steamcmd.sh? For a dedicated server you'll want steamcmd.sh. steam.sh does weird stuff assuming you're running Ubuntu. Previous you were able to use steam.sh.
steamcmd is newer so it must be better....</sarcasm>
$ steamcmd.sh +login anonymous +app_update 215360 validate
ERROR! Failed to install app '215360' (No subscription)
$ steamcmd.sh +login randomsteamaccount password +app_update 215360 validate
Success! App '215360' fully installed.
Where randomsteamaccount is an account I created with no game...
If the wiki was working then:
http://wiki.tripwireinteractive.com/index.php/Dedicated_Server_(KillingFloor)
But yes you need steamcmd:
https://developer.valvesoftware.com/wiki/SteamCMD
Dedicated server app ID is 215350 for Windows, 215360 for Linux.
Considering Linux releases this year have versions below Ubuntu 12.04 glibc, this is going to be an issue unless you can wait 2-3 years. I hope you can give feedback to Valve on this.
I run 7 public KF servers and I'm not interested in working around this in the future.
TWI, you have broken the server for Linux for many people.
Debian Squeeze (old stable, still in security support until next year) has glibc 2.11.
Debian Wheezy (stable, just out this year) has glibc 2.13
Ubuntu 10.04 LTS (EOL April 2015) has glibc 2.11
My guess is you have built on Ubuntu...
Personally I use it for PlayerJoinLog and ChatFilter, so I have a log of chat and who joined the server. ChatFilter can filter chat, but it's a bit pointless.
It does other stuff too, a web search of "server ext ut2004" gives you http://wiki.unrealadmin.org/ServerExt
I find it quite common for new people to spend too long in the trader, when really you need to leave quickly, depending on map, location and tactics being used. Although that's probably a function of not knowing what you can and should buy.
I don't think gender always comes into it, just some...
