You sure it isnt overheating? (dust free, graphics card fan runs well?). Another thought, try a system rollback, if this change accurred after a recent system update or other event.

Are you sure you are virus and spyware free? Do you shut down any un needed running programs while gaming? If you are on a wireless connection, is there any way you can hardwire your computer to your router with CAT 5 cable, even temporarily, to see if it makes a difference?

Although I dont KNOW the answer, it sounds as if you arent actually joining the server, perhaps your firewall is blocking, perhaps Punkbuster? You might try disabling the firewall, you might try joining a non-Punkbuster server. Have you ever been able to join an on-line RO2 game?

First, I suggest you post your system specifications, just to be sure your computer CAN run the game. Or, visit http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/cyri/ to check. Have you tried turning off your firewall, in case it is blocking Steam or the game? Have you tried verifying the local game cache...

Just curious, are you using the generic Windows mouse drivers, or a specialty mouse driver? I seem to recall something like this in the past, some guy was using the drivers that come with his gaming mouse. Logitech maybe?
