Their support is terrible, the batteries are horrible, crashes are quite common and updating never seems to work properly.
There aren't much navigation systems which work anywhere near flawless, but if there is one to recommend it's a Garmin with a reasonably sized screen and built-in speakers.

Got a ****ty Magellan for like 130$ and it totally does the job. No idea how it would work back home in the crowded cities of Europe but if it can handle Atlanta with like 234234234 different Peachtree Streets it can do Europe as well
If you want to do it on the cheap you could get a bluetooth GPS receiver and get something like TomTom Navigator, Sygic Drive or the Garmin thingy for your GSM (if your phone is running an OS like Windows Mobile or Symbian). Also handy when you're on foot in an unfamiliar city =).
