Very odd in-game problem

My system has a very strange problem with RO.
Every few minutes it seems my avatar gets bound to the ground. I can't move for a couple seconds and then I am able to move again. Sometimes when it happens it'll ... teleport me a couple metres forward or sideways.
It's extremely annoying and makes it hard for me to play.

Anyone know what might be causing it?

No packetloss. I know my line is good for sure. I think it's something to do with my system. Here's my system specs.

I hope that helps. Also I'm currently behind a Linksys router. However I've also had the same problem with unshared DSL connection AND a T1 line.

If needed, I'll glad fraps it to show y'all.

Anyway, I hope someone can help me. Thanks.

Worth mentioning that having no antivirus or firewall could be the cause of your issues. If you have a trojan or similar nasty on your comp it could be either using all your cpu (causing fps stop) or sending lots of internet traffic causing packet loss.

Simply turn on windows firewall (it does the job and hey its free ;) )
and download AVG anti virus as this is also free and will detect most viruses for you.

The situation you are describing is exactly what happens when a server becomes overloaded so though it may not be your connection it could be the servers fault. Try joining a different server with less players to test.

I know my comp is clean. I can see what processes are running and no other game encounters any problem. I can run DoD:S and CS:S with NO problems on max settings. I've run test on DSLreports and I have solid results with no discernable packetloss.

Also, I've noticed that other people have also had their feet glued to the floor for a second or too and no one has gotten an answer. I verified the cache files and disabled precaching, I have great framerates, so that's not the problem. It's just this random getting glued in one place for second. It can reallty mess things up.

Should I unstill and reinstall cause I do have entries in my game log say "Could not find NULL" and other similars entries. Has anyone beat this problem? If so.. HOW???

Do as spraduke says, get your firewall up and running and download an anti virus program.

AVG.
Antivir.
Avast.

All free and recommended, my personal favorite is Avast, although I use all three on different computers.

Crapcleaner for the cookies.

Maybe something is accessing your HD and you don't even know its there !

Okay, so I deleted EVERYTHING, reinstalled, and tried again and immediately got the glued to the ground thing on my first game. Here's the log, I was only in game for 10 seconds.

PLEASE HELP ME.

Not set to dynamic. Haven't tried lowering it.
Does not happen in practice. I do get slow downs, but I don't get glued in place.
Also, I ran some AV programs that I was advised to DL and install and I ended up removing a lot of spyware and malware that somehow found it's way on to my hard drive. After that, I tried playing online and still got the gluing, albeit it happened less frequently. It could be network. I don't know. I feel it may be a combination.

Hey, my problem too... I posted about it weeks ago. Prevented me from playing any further :(

May be it's time for me to look into it once again. Better replies this time :p

/edit/ My rig if brand new, so no spyware and old leftovers for me :). Running Vista, Dualcore, Go 7600, 2 gig of ram, running very smoothly at 1900 x 1200. Pity I get rooted every three minutes :)

Connected through Wifi to a 20 meg line.
