Hw 3-d + Eax

Hello, I got a problem with my sound config. Couple of day ago I got the Creative SoundBlaster X-Fi Gamer Soundcart and changed my options ot HW 3-D + EAX. Now, it is totally different but there are very nice sound effects. Anyway, now I cannot hear other people talking by using Voice-Chat. If I set the config back to 3-D Audio, which I had before, the Voice Chat works. Can somebody give me any advice what to do?

get the latest driver then make sure you select use system driver ^^

I have got the latest driver installed i think. (I installed the sound card 2 days ago + all the stuff on the cd and online updates)
Anyway it works now (i have system driver ticked now) but the voices sound different compared to "3-D Audio" for example. Is that normal? It sounds not that clear anymore...

Which voices? The voice commands or real people's voices on mics?

Exactly. With 3-D Audio they sound more like on Teamspeak, you know, a little bit clearer. Now with HW-3D + EAX they sound more like on radio of the 60ths you might know what I mean. Just not that clear, but understandable ...

Isn't there anybody who knows why the voices of the people talking sound different with HW 3-D + EAX settings compared to normal 3-D Audio?

quite possible that it might use a different codec. from the software one when using hardware. Afterall you let the hardware do the processing. aslong as the sounds don't brake it shouldn't be that bad of a problem

Of course its not a major problem but people I know (of TS for example) sound totally different in game. Sure, i can understand every word they're saying but its still a weird "new" effect with EAX when I had normal 3-D Audio for like 6 months...

It could be the different codec used by the game...well, thanks anyway mate
