.50 is restricted by Geneva to an anti-materiel role.
That's why the M82 is technically an anti-materiel rifle, not a sniper rifle.

Still you can use it against infantry. You wont care if its a sniper or a 50. cal It can even be a RPG. Dont they use RPGs against US soldiers in iraq?
