Knights of the Sky (WW1 flight sim)

Not sure if this was posted already or not but for anyone who hasnt seen it. This is a WW1 flight sim thats being developed. It was originally a mod for IL2 but recently they switched and started work on a full game. There still in alpha but the screens look amazing and could turn out to be great.

I saw this thread and thought you were talking about the original 1989 Microprose game of the same name. That was the first flight sim I ever played and I loved it.

Name stealage aside, that does look pretty cool.

I'm talking about the Fokker DR.1 pics where the thing is flying. The prop is turning but the engine is not.

Haha, you know Knights of the Sky is the first ever game i owned for PC, way back in 1993 or so my dad took me out of school for half a day to guy buy the computer and that game

Finally Finally! The first WW1 game since 1997? 98? (besides a few crappy rts) This is the best news in gaming i've heard in so long!

there is a pilot in the first screen and the rotary isnt turning, I think they said they are but they havent added the burl effect to it yet.

Anyway, finally a World War I sim again, and this time in real 3D rather then Red Baron 3D with it's raytracer crap.

Knights of the Sky was amazing although I had the Amiga version

I remember great details like the engine stalling. Hopefully this new one will be just as great

I wonder how much physics it will have. It would rock to be able to cut rigging and shrouds wth a burst of mg and watch that basket plummet earthward

Simply loved 'Red Baron 3d', which I still have installed and play from time to time. I have always wished someone would re-develop RB on a new engine. That would make me drool for sure and certainly end my mapping for RO for weeks on end. Nice to see this new game. I'll be sure to follow the development.
