Medieval II: Total War

Alright, when MTW2 comes out, you guys wanna get some multiplayer action down to see who's God at this game? :)

Also, another interesting thing to do is to do chain campaigns, where one person starts a campaign and plays on it for x amount of years, then saves the campaign save file and uploads it for the next guy designated plays the campaign for x more years from there. This worked very interestingly in MTW, let's see if we can do this with MTW2 or at least right now RTW.

What is the point? To see who conquers the most? What if someone wants to screw everyone up? I dont have RTW on my laptop, probably won't for a couple weeks....so I guess I'll be the odd man out.

It would be interesting seeing how other people can progress your nation...the hard part is the conflict in styles of combat. What if I made the units I wanted and then had to give the campaign to someone else and they **** with those units? It would be very interesting. Would we allow people to alt f4 after something bad happens before a save?

New video..I think you will like it

NTW2, although lacking a campaign, is one of the best mods for RTW. Very polished.

And for those who liked Kingdom of Heaven http://forums.totalwar.org/vb/forumdisplay.php?f=134

Yes indeed, Caius' mod is shaping up. He was recently grilled by a couple of people who thought his mod was pointless with M2TW coming out so soon. His response was pretty much "**** you". Caius is a god :D

Yep, Caius is indeed a god. Those smiley hidden links could quite possibly be classed as cruel and unusual torture. But, his mod is shaping up to be the best released for RTW yet, therefore ever, and with only a team of 3 (plus task monkeys), it's quite an achievement.

Anyway;

And a new vid on sieges

Also, that idea of an e-mail campaign sounds very nice indeed.

I'm actually starting to get excited about this era...lots of possibilities, I want to assassinate the pope :D. *Note to big brother, I mean the pope in the game, not the real pope* I've thought about being Britain and going rouge and crushing Europe, or being Byzantium and be the Frontline guardian of Europe. Are there any other countries with good pikeman, bowmen, and decent calvary other than Britain? Britain just seems so cliche.

err.. The Holy Roman Empire (read:germany) have quite a few interesting units.

Forlorn Hope
The 'Verlorene Haufe' or Forlorn Hope as they are known, are comprised of prisoners and volunteers desperate for glory. Their job is to lead the first and usually fatal charge used to break up enemy pike formations. Forlorn Hope are heavily armoured and wield massive Zweihanders. These units are vicious assault troops who can chop a man into bloody pieces.

Reiters
Reiters derive their name from the German word reiter, meaning horseman/rider. Generally from German states, Reiters are armed with a cavalry pistol and cavalry spear, and protected by plate armour. Reiters are trained in the use of firearms, sometimes using two pistols, and often employ the shooting circle tactic enabling riders to create a continuous cycle of firing and reloading.

Serpentine
The Ribault also known as the organ gun due to its many pipes is a fearsome spectacle on the battlefield. Armed with six short ranged barrels, it is often used in the defence of other longer ranged artillery. Able to fire all six barrels at once, it makes the enemy think twice before engaging!

They had an article of Medieval Total War 2 in the german gaming magazine "GameStar" and it recieved a 91% rating. I dunno if you guys already know but you choose between the Germans, French, Spanish, Venice or England at the beginning. The rest is the same as Rome: conquer the enemies in the short or long campaign to play as that faction. I can't wait for this awesome game :3~~~
