I believe for anyone aspiring to be a modeller, Milkshape is a great starting block. Plenty of Tutorials, plenty of exporters. This is where a Modeller should start... The Basics, low-poly, just the basics. It's where I started and moved on to Max and Maya. Too many times I've looked over a model in a mod and have seen all the wasted polies. Everything is too high in count these days, people should start at the basics to learn that not everything has to be 6k tris.
