It's a British Farquhar-Hill rifle, first developed in 1908 as an automatic rifle. It was overly complex in design and wasnt adopted. In 1917 it made a return as a light machine gun, but though improved, it was not adopted, the Lewis gun already providing a far superior weapon for the British Army. Calibre is .303 British with a 20-round drum.

Apparently, it was so small and they were churned out of their production lines so quickly that technically, it was quicker to build a new one than it was to reload
