While California has some very crappy gunlaws, one has to concede that we have some beautiful outdoor ranges with very little rain or bad weather. When I don't feel like breathing in lead and I want to fire off my dad's rifle, this is where I go, its about a 30 minute drive compare to half the time it takes to go to indoor ranges, but its definately worth it.

Theres also a nice picnic area, drinks and food are sold at the range, its a pretty nice place to spend a nice summer day. Range fee is 13.00 per person, but 6.50 for people under 18 like me, so its a pretty good deal.

100 meters? Poor yanks, our gunrange down at Swanbourne goes to well over 1000 yards. Will get a picture if i can ever find the damn thing

There's a long-range (I want to say out to 2km) range somewhere in my state, I think.

if you notice that's an indoor range..

of course 100yards is the most common distance for rifle ranges

Where I lived in Texas we had 2 ranges that went out to 600 yards, one that went to 1000 meters, and a whole bunch that went to 200-300 yards. Now I live in California, where shooting ranges of any description are hard to come by.

Fortunately I live in San Jose, so I'm in driving distance to a large number of ranges. The unfortunate part is that I live so close to 3 schools that I can't even step beyond my own lawn with a firearm even to just put it in my dads car which may or may not be parked on OUR OWN street. But actually I forgot to mention that we have a VERY long distance range in the mountains real close to us, I just can't remember the distance.

the one i frequent is Los Altos rod and gun club, it has 100 yrd rifle and tin can range, 50 yrd target range, 40yrd tin can for rifles/hand guns. its in the moutains and could be the one the soup nazi is talking about?

Actually, the Los Altos is the one I originally posted pictures of. Its a 30ish minute drive from here, but theres actually a VERY long distance rifle range in the mountains near San Jose.
