LOL. In my case, ZoneAlarm will go into the trashbin before RO!

The fix will come. I think it'll be worth the wait.

Hehe, heard that dude and I will be patient. However, the fact that RO and ONLY RO has this problem speaks volumes, and while I take your point I don't see why I should compromise my PC's security to compensate for a broken product, no matter how much I want to play it. I paid my money and I want a working game. I'm getting a bit tired with having to make compromises to get what I paid for.

Just the principle of the thing thats all. If we as gamers keep putting up with broken games then there is no incentive for developers to produce a highly polished product.

Thats just a general observation btw, I realise that Tripwire are working hard on fixing this problem. ;)

There was Problem in the BETA with ZA, ig ot fixed. Now this is a new Problem which came to being after the latest ZA Patch, and Zone Labs is working on it, other Applications suffer from the same Problem with ZA...

Oh really? Thats new info. What other apps are having difficulty with ZA?

Not being sarcastic here, I'd love to direct my frustration at someone other than Tripwire is all!!

Where did you get the info about Zone Labs working on the fault?

/mewarmpsupcomplaintnuke.

Blue Screen and reboot. Won't play at all...

Blue Screen and reboot. Won't play at all...

To a pasty white Geek God,
Ok here it goes: When I start Red Orchestra it goes the the inital small startup screen and sometime you might briefly see
a bug report before it goes to the Windows Fatal Exception Error screen heretofor known as the "Blue Screen of Death"c and
restarts. Unpon reboot it it states that windows has recoverd from a serious error and may say this 4 times. I was one able
to save the log from the RO startup bug report and here it is:
Build RedOrchestra_Build_[2005-11-27_10.48]
OS: Windows XP 5.1 (Build: 2600)
CPU: AuthenticAMD PentiumPro-class processor @ 2194 MHz with 1023MB RAM
Video: No Video
Can't find 'ini:Engine.Engine.GameEngine' in configuration file
History: UObject::SafeLoadError <- UObject::StaticLoadClass <- InitEngine <- FMallocWindows::Free <- FMallocWindows::Free
Now remeber I have never seen this with any app or game I have and as a matter of fact I cant recall the last time I have
seen the The Blue Screen of Death with Windows XP. So this IS a Steam or RO problem.
Now to save redundant help heres what I have done:
-I do not have Zone Alarm
-I do have a router
-I have reintalled the most current drivers for my high end video card
-I have verifed and checked my DirectX 9c
-I shut off windows firewall as a precaution
-I shut off my virus scanner as a precaution
-I have verifed all the RO files within steam
-I have deleted all the RO files within steam and redownloaded them
-I have uninstalled RO and Steam
-I have deleted all files and folders relating to them
-I have cleaned the registry of any references the Steam, Valve, Half-Life, RO tec...
-I have reinstalled a fresh copy of steam
-I have redownloaded RO and verified
And guess what? Blue Screen of Death and Reboot. Stumped? Me too...

Alright, I had a bad bug with the ragdolls: I found a fix!

If your ragdolls in-game aren't working (they remain still in the position they're killed to, even standing up) do this: Go to Steam/SteamApps/YourAccount/Red Orchestra/System and delete all the .ucl files.

I was trying to fix another bug I had with no maps showing up, but this also repaired the ragdolls!

more in depth

Blue screen of death! Blue screen of death! ahhhh!

Would it be possible to get someone on here that CAN play the game to post their sys specs so we can get a cross ref. on what programs/hardware/ops may be conflicting with RO or steam? BTW, thank you poopyshoe for the in depth list.

All we have so far is what does not work, lets try to see what DOES work.
Much appreciated

I have both AOL and zonealarm. Unfortunatley the A holes out there spamming Bull crap are slowing TW down. They have to read EVERY post to help get more info and it doens't help that they have to read your lame ass bull crap. I'm suprised your all whining. i'd pay alot more for a game like RO. And those who ask for a fix i'd like to see you fix a game that quick! Its only been out since tuesday. Who do you think you are? I'm only 15 and you guys should be alot more mature. Grow up. If you can' contribute such as giving info such as whether your behind a friewall ect and Waiting for TW to fix the problems. Their only humans such as you and I except they have alot more patience then you seem to do.
TW have worked on this for a long time and this hurts them alot more then you.

Sorry [DBDUK]ImIgRaNt But I have to disagree with you there, Yes games do come out with a few small glitches, BUT having no Major ISP Beta testing is in my opion a very bad practice.

If a game developer is expecting to sell their game to the masses, then they should be 99.5% sure that ALL ISP's/Servers etc will run it, If they are NOT sure they should have NOT released the game.

This would then stop most of this sort of frustration for all the people who have paid their hard earned money for the game EXPECTING it to work.... As you would expect ANY purchase you make wether it be a game or a car.

The truth is that it does NOT work for over 40% of users and most of those who can not connect, & Sorry you can not blame Firewalls/Antivirus software as these should have been tested also.

So really they have the rite to complain & pass all their faults back to Tripwire.

AND yes I agree tripwire is trying to sort out this catastrophy of faults.

I am prepared to wait 2 weeks then I going to drop the game like a hot brick.:(

Remember during the Testing stage when you fix bugs new bugs will come out of that fix. A New patch is almost 100% likely to come out with a new bug. Fixes cause more problems. you can narrow them down after extensive testing but its extremely hard to do so. But you cannot dissagree with my point that being an A hole and wasting time making them read pointless complaints especially when people paste "RIOT RIOT" or "SPAM SPAM" again and again is a complete waste of everyones time. There is no usch thing as a bug free game unless your game does nothing at all. And the fact that you all think they can fix these problems with a wand and that you somehow think they are just watching the chaos and not doing anything at all is completely stuipid.

BTW i am not aiming this at you because as far as i can tell your being patient. I want a few fixes too but if there are pointless posts saying SPAM then its a waste of time
