General rant here,
Something I can never understand is why they always need to shoehorn in a love story or an overcoming adversity situation in war movies.
Instead of making a really powerful movie about war or discrimination, they combine them to appeal to a wider audience, but end up with an equally bad representation of both parts, and just a plain ****ty movie.
Focus on one, do it right, and make a real good movie.
Butttt, we'll have the jackassery combat stuff as previously mentioned, cheesy lines, and a feel good ending when they win the begrudging respect of their commanders and bomber crews.
