Missing textures/files.

I'm not really sure what's wrong with my Killing Floor, but whenever I play it on my friend's computer it works perfectly. But when I play it on my computer, all the characters, specimens, flamethrower flame (the one coming out the flammable gas exhaust port/blower.), ejected shells, and guns are white. Also the red dot sights and holographic sights aren't transparent. There's only 2 characters that aren't white. That's the Private_Schneider (I think his name is) and the face of Corporal_Lewis (Once again, I think his name is that, he's in a woodland Army Camo). I'm not sure if it's a glitch or my computer doesn't have a graphics card. Or maybe it's just too old for the textures/meshes and Steam/Killing Floor doesn't install/show them. I have some screenshots of what I'm experiencing below.

OOh thats nasty. I suggest you verify ur game first.

and if that wont work I will suggest you delete everything in this folder

{disk}/programfiles/steam/steammaps/common/killingfloor/textures
if you installed the game in a custom folder you can atleast follow this path:
steam/steammaps/common/killingfloor/textures

and when you have deleted everything just verify the game again like the picture above.

Ok, thanks for the help, I'll do that and edit this post if it worked.

EDIT 1: Tried what was suggested, and it didn't work, going to try deleting the textures pack and then verifying the game cache files. I will edit this post again if it worked or not.

EDIT 2: Deleting the "textures" file pack and then verifying the game cache files did not work either. Anymore ideas? Anyone?

hmm. do you have a anti virus maybe it search or the files you try to run on your computer. you might wanna try giving it a exception for the killing floor files? :p knows there are a tons of tutorials out there.

You want to make a exception for the entier steam folder if you do :)

A few things:

1. Yes, I have a really slow computer. Mostly because I need a memory upgrade, only about 24.27 GB out of 108 GB of memory, Killing Floor takes a majority of it. The thing I have the most of is music, and that's only about 1 Gig, dunno what's taking up all the rest.

2. I do have Anti-Virus, I use Norton by Symantec.

3. As far as I know, I told it to allow everything from Steam & Killing Floor, but I'll make sure of it.

Edit(s):

1. I might post another log from Killing Floor, I figure I will reinstall it, play it, and get a log file compiled and maybe get closer to fixing it.

2. As far as I know, I told Norton to not block anything from Killing Floor. Nothing changed though.

Hello, I have a very strange problem with my game. I tried all of the possible options [uninstall, veryifing cache] but nothing happened. [This only affects the Patriach] but is frustating.

Anyone can help me?

I have just covered the reason why textures are missing in this thread:

Hellride is obviously not the only map or package this is happening to.

But the same principle applies. You must go into the Cache folder in your Killing Floor Directory and delete the texture packages that have been downloaded.

For example for Hellride there is a 12kb Hellride_T.utx package. If you delete that then you will get your textures back for Hellride.

But be aware that you will only get your textures back for Single player and Host your OWN server only.

Online servers will continue to download these rogue texture packages until they are fixed.

Which means every time you join an online server, it will download rogue texture packages to you which gives you these problems.

Server admins need to manually copy across the client side Texture package(s) for the broken maps and/or packages and place them in their server package.

Tripwire need to release a new server update to solve the rogue texture package issues.

This issue is server related not client side. Reinstalling the game will NOT fix the issue nor will verifying the games cache. It is an issue server owners need to fix themselves or Tripwire must fix in a general server update.

Overall Tripwire really need to attend to this quickly as it is obviously a wide spread problem.

But as for yourselves, it is not your games that are broken. It is the servers which are totally out of your control.

I don't know if this helps but, the only problem I have is the patriach have missing textures [rocket launcher, tentacles, pants] ONLY when is so far away from my location, and when he's in front of me, its show normal [with tentacles and all the stuff].

That's normal.

It is to do with draw distances and how the graphics are handled in the Unreal Engine.

Nothings broken so you're fine if that is your only issue.

Maps in Unreal engine games wont run if they are missing assets. Since it's actually running it's not a problem with the file integrity.

Default (bubble) textures displayed indicate a problem with the ability to render it. Update gpu drivers, update DirectX and/or switch to DX8.

has anyone gotten any current issues with the current update? Ever since I have gotten the update, I try to launch Killing Floor, play on solo or even host game, it still doesn't work, it wont choose a game length, it has no logo like there should be, I don't understand the problem, but it spawns me into the DOOM mod even though I didn't want that game type.
