Default Is there a weapon skin for the m14?

I find the iron sight hard to use compared to the lever rifle.

Changing the iron-sight would require a new 3d model so no.

Personally i'd suggest trying to not use the scope at all if that is the case but try to use the laser more often. After awhile it's very simple to know where you're aiming without scoping which is a huge advantage but that's my opinion/advise

Yup, and I can do that pretty well.

Its the zoom factor I'm after though.

I've never been fond of the laser or the ironsights, I'd recommend using neither (unless for long range) and getting used to knowing where the middle of the screen is.

I'd blame CSS for that.

here you go:
DOWNLOAD

put files into system folder.

start a solo game, in console type:
enablecheats
summon m14_resight.m14acogpickup

then kill stuff with it.

basically i changed the m4 reddot acog to a holo sight (and added a lens) then put that on the m14.
it's fun.

You just have to shoot where the white dot is on the sight instead of exactly at it's edge.

Thanks. However, using this means I can't level perks right? (cheats?)

Awhile ago I suggested alt weapons skins (MODELS for you Mr. Sauce) as DLC per a larger suggestion, and while in retrospect it may not have been the best suggestion (read: bloody awful), I still maintain that TWI not selling alt model packs for the current weapons is a huge mistake.

everyone needs to stop saying skins in reference to models/textures, it's just plain dumb.

yeah you cant level perks with this gun, it's just for fun, and i needed something to test some textures on.

Skins are just plain re-textures for example this:
http://www.gamebanana.com/kf/skins/s...07608?screen=0

What ro_sauce did is to do with the model and not textures so it's not a skin in any way.

Not everyone is saying this in a literal sense, it's just lingo/a slang that came to be after people started modding their videogames

Because one of the common uses of the term "skin" refers to both the model and the texture.

As in "skinning a mesh to a skeleton"? Even that context the mesh isn't a skin, it's just in phrase of an action. That makes as much literal sense as "posting a write".

no, the texture acts as the 3d mesh's skin, the same way your skin acts as your flesh's skin (!).
amazing, isn't it?

Wow, it is indeed super hard to imagine a word having more than one meaning.
