What's up with the 'zerker nerf?

What? I play on hard mode and I have outright stopped playing my Beserker - just because it's too easy to own everything in sight. I got him to level 2 or 3 then noticed I was actually getting bored while playing it.

Same here. I just turned on the chainsaw and guarded a oneway entrance area. Boring.

I don't see whats so bad about the chainsaw. I prefer it over the Katana now that the Katana's autoattack is gone.

My opinion of current class status is probably more like,

Better at their role than necessary: Sharpshooter, Demolition
Succeed at their role adequately: Support Spec., Commando, Medic
Inferior or one-dimensional choices: Berserker, Firebug

The katana still does decent single shot damage, but the chainsaw is better for long-term damage. Against scrakes and FPs, the chainsaw is your best bet, but on the lower tiered zeds the katana is a safer choice. I think the only reason that zerkers are not played nowadays is the fact that most other classes can take down everything at a safe range, whereas berserker can take down everything except FPs at close range only. Yes, pre-patch he was a beast and could kill pretty much everything. People fail to realize that you had to be in an enemy's attack range in order to attack him. If I'm going to be up in a gorefast's face, I'd better damn well be killing him faster than any other class. I think that in order to balance classes back out, they need to make zerkers able to decapitate the higher tiered zeds. That's all. Give us a chance (based on damage done) to decap an FP or scrake. It will assist the team in taking down the zed and also make it so our melees are actually worth the risk we take.

Every other class can use their primary weapons to take out any zed (barring medic, of course). I don't see why berserkers should be any different. Either that, or give us more damage resistance so that we can focus on being sponges instead of damage dealers. I'm fine with either role.

The only thing that I mind about the beserker changes are the changes revolving around the damage reduction to the chainsaw, currently it's normal attack is the weakest out of all the other melee weapons, this includes the knife.

I now just play using the katana nowadays when I play my beserker. It would be nice if they would rollback the changes to the chainsaw, it excels at dealing with numerous enemies all at once compared to the katana.

I realllllllllllllllllllllllllly hate the change to the katana. when i started really playing my zerker was with heavy metal and i went katana all the way from rank 1 to 5. I usually chat in vent with the clan while playing and using my middle mouse as my push to talk for vent. i could hold down the swing button and talk at the same time using 1 fingers lol. I'm blonde. It's hard for me to hold down the middle button and click the left mouse button at the same time!!!!

It screws me up when i get a zed in the middle of a cluster too. I was so used to holding down the button and extending the zed.
