Hey guys. I may have found a fix. I deleted the config folder from My Documents/UE3/Config, verified the cache in steam, and defragged RO. Been playing for 10min now with no crashes so far.

Someone else try this and let me know if it works?

I'm getting Blue Screens when I try to connect to a server that runs Barracks and I CTD on any other server...

I got a GeForce 9800 GTX+, so I guess it's not an ATI problem.

Yep, that's what i thought, I'm on Elevator Grain, no problem so far.
The problem must be coming from Barracks map.

No problems on Elevator Grain for me too.

I've had 1 crash on Elevator Grain but at least I can play a little first.

Guys not sure if this is a fix but I verified by game files in Steam and so far I've not crashed.

That may change.. but it's ok so far.

Give it a go.

Nope, sorry guys it didn't work.

Soon as Artillery hit on the Barracks map the game crashed.

You guys get into servers? Lucky , I crash when loading server list.
And with the amount of glitches and bugs, I think the game surely can take another week.

Its allready been posted earlier that it wotn work.

What happens is the following:

You join a NEW server, you play, after 1-15 minutes you crash.
You try to rejoin SAME server, you crash on WELCOME SCREEN.

Aka, you join ANOTHER server, and crash after 1-15 minutes,
You try to rejoin that same server, you crash on welcome screen.

LIke I said I think the reason why u cant rejoin is because of the STEAM erro you get: USER allready in Server. My 2 cents.

Definitely related to large explosions - and not just on the Barracks map.

I set a satchel off as a test on an empty server with a friend and the explosion crashed both our games.

Even though gunfire can do it as well.

64 players + gunfire + arty = crash
64 players + gunfire = crash
< 50 players + gunfire = no crash
< 50 players + gunfire + arty = crash
No matter which map.

Played Barracks(~50 ppl) 2 rounds without any arty, no problems but as soon as arty was called -> crash

RedOctoberFactory crashes always within a few secs.

Had been playing and having a great time before today's patch came out...Left the house while the 9-4-2011 update was downloading...Came home and started the game...which now crashes anywhere before entering the server to 30 seconds after spawning...

Yea I'm having a similar problem but with me I can play a match fine but as soon as it ends and starts loading up the next map my game crashes.

same thing, constant black screen crash, have to ctrl-alt-del out of it and shut it down via task man.

cannot even get 5 mins play on a server before it crashes.

edit... just tried again, red october factory, as soon as arty came in black screen crash again

won't let me edit above post, so I lowered all settings to medium and it fixed the crashes

Any official word on this yet? This is a game breaker for me, I may as well get a refund on my pre-order. Reducing game settings is not a "fix", it should be playable at any setting.
