The Full 1016 Balance Change Log

All seems less like an update and more like an bad break.

Level six demolitions is hopeless now, got a few thousand pounds?
Poof all gone buying bombs in a single round. A single bloat or just two gorefasts can blow up the entire cost of 9 clips of SCAR ammo.

Chainsaw on slot 4? Slot 4 is reserved for heavy powerful weapons, chainsaw is just heavy and is a death sentence to anyone relying on it past wave 3.

Reduced damage from frontal melee attacks?
Used to be able to take a husks head off with a katana from the front, but not from the back (which makes no sense), now what, I have to slap that thing four times in the face with a blade to take it down?

I've never seen 'from the rear' attacks do double damage.
It always takes more hits from the back than it does from the front.
Clots get hit in the back of the head, they turn around and need another strike. Gorefasts manage to attack before even turning around.
Husks took at least three to the back of the head.

WTF happened to level six Support Specialist shotgun?
Used to pound through a few gorefasts with it, now it takes two shots just to kill one of them. Two shots with slow as crap weapon against insanely fast enemy.

Nerfing the SCAR made playing level six commando on fleshpound waves pointless. I have to reload three times just to take it down, while shooting none of the other 40 monsters on my screen in the meantime.
Now you've reduced damage even more?
Just rename the Commando to 'meat shield' and be done with it.

Used to be able to soften the FP up with grenades, only now radius and damage are increased, so BOOM, there goes my armor and health from like 20 feet away, around corners, and through walls.

Each 'update' honestly only gets worse.
Every time there is a supposed 'fix' other things break.

Ok Kneejerk reactions aside, just how ignorant are you?

Pipebombs from lvl6 Demos were chucked around any old place without any care. Now the bad demo's who insist on chucking Pipes down in front of the team before a wave get to watch there expensive piece of equipment blow up when a lone Bloat walks over it and perhaps, just perhaps, they'll learn something from it. Pipebombs are superpowerful defensive weapons, an excellent last line of defence against Fleshpounds or a sudden rush, not a money maker.

Maybe you should try using the chainsaw before criticising it. We are all well aware the chainsaw was a useless pile of garbage, now it is not.

Yes its called the backstab bug. It was backstabbing from the front and dealing normal damage from the back. Now its fixed. Perhaps if you thought about it before you started *****ing you might of figured it out.

I wasn't aware the shotgun had changed... hell the Hunting Shotgun single shot got almost twice as powerful.

If you think the Commando is supposed to be killing FPs with the SCAR then you have no idea how to play Commando. Commando is better off shooting everything else BUT the FP to keep them off the real damage dealers.

Seriously? You are actually complaining that grenades were improved? Throw the grenades a bit further away next time? You know... adapt? I suppose you were also front of the line for complaining about the LAW?

You forgot the fact that he misread the SCAR change as a nerf instead of a buff. It's been buffed by 15%, not nerfed.

And I just love the LAW now. I actually went around on a Doom2 map for like 6 waves only using the LAW.

And I can't believe he is complaining about the slot change of the Chainsaw. I think it's fine, cause it is kinda the zerkers "best" weapon now.

I fully enjoy the new update and I must say that you really have fixed a lot of balance issues.

I'm enjoying it.

The only negative thing that I can comment on (and it really isnt a big deal, doesnt matter much either way) is the Christmas Husk (Snowman) - he's holding a snowball, so it would've been cool if he threw a snowball at you instead of the same fireball. Kinda looks weird.. the flames coming from the Snowman.. but, like I said, no biggie..

I think the updates are great (more difficulty is much BETTER) and the Christmas theme is a lot of fun :cool:

The only thing that I dislike is the reduction of HS ammo for the level 6 Support at spawn. Maybe full ammo was too much but 25% seems way too little. What if you join a game on anything above wave 3 on suidical/HoE, the servers now full and you had 4 seconds to go until the next round started? I'd probably have to apologize to the team for joining because I'd soon end up using my pistol and most likely die but I'm more of a front line shotgun guy. I'm sure if you're a welder and don't fire, then you won't have a problem.

The point about the chainsaw is you are not going to be carrying any other slot 4 weapons other than pipe bombs if you have a chainsaw. So you might as well put it in slot 4 so that you can switch between the chainsaw and the katana quickly if that is your berzerker's weapon setup.

It also slows you down.
You don't want to become slow when pressing 1. So it had to go to another slot.
It was put into slot 3 (and the katana was 4) at first but was then switched to 4 because most shooters you can carry along with it go on 3.

This update kind of makes it harder now for advanced players. Those who played KF longer are already used to the weapon slots, so they still click 1 to get chainsaw, still click 4 to get Mac10 etc. Now it's kind of hard to get used to this change. Matter of time I guess though.
Also, the pipe bombs are kind of useless change when it comes to price for Demolition. Yeah, should be expensive so other perks wouldn't buy, but Demolition's discount for them should be slightly bigger.
