We actually have a good number of Euro players in the group, I guess they're just lucky enough to be able to stay up as late as we require during our Saturday games.


6th Sense is probably your best bet. I haven't played with them, but I have heard good things about them. They're more open to the public as well, so it shouldn't be hard to play with them.

Aye, I watched those videos. Great work as usual mate. I like how the character moves his lips when the person talks. Though imo the 3D sound of the voices is a bit exaggerated, when someone on your right speaks, some of the sound should come from the left speaker too. But that's easy to fix.

As for the pics, yesterday I could only see them after I copied the URL from the "red x's" in IE and then pasted them in FF. But now I see a pic that says "unauthorized hotlinking".

What url do you use for the forums? http://www.redorchestragame.com is allowed to hotlink from my site. Is anyone else seeing red x's while using that URL?

It now works for me.

But a few minutes ago, I got the same as yesterday: no pics in FF and red crosses in IE. Yes, I always use http://redorchestragame.com/forum/. It was not my cache, either. I think.

It was probably the lack of a www. that caused it to not allow them. Hotlink protection can be funny like that. It should be fixed for good now.

I've recently got back into playing ArmA again at the urging of some of my friends (some of which are in the RO community).

Been having some great times and beta patch 1.09 is awesome in terms of a performance boost (and my new 8800gt I got for xmas helps too ).

If anybody is interested in some RO community coop missions or anything like that or has some cool misisons they are making let me know!

The game has a few technical short comings etc but the "real combat" feeling is unique.

The thing is they don't sell ARMA here, I have to order it from fricking Amazon and wait 3 weeks D:

I tried the 1.06 demo, I like it but the first person movement is really clunky. Is there a mod adressing this?

What did you find clunky? Personally i find it pretty fluid once you get used to it.
I like the way you can doubletap the walk-button for instance, and your character will stay in walking-mode, so you wont have to hold down the button the whole time.
After a while it will get second nature to you, and you'll probably love it.

As for the free-aiming (they also added free-aiming ironsights in 1.08 patch <3 ), you can disable that, only i dont know why anyone would want to really

It took me a while to like ArmA, as performance sucked on my old pc, graphically it looked worse then OFP at moments thanks to 8800 messing up (wich got fixed in 1.09 beta patch), and i didnt like the aimpoint on the rifle, wich i now love lol and the movement felt awkward to me in the beginning, but now i've come to grips with it and love it ^^

I know what you mean. Sometimes its just feels if you were playing the game with a game pad its just clunky and not precise. Every shooter out there is more responsive and feels more accurate.

Do I need QG to play with you guys?
I'm on Vs 1.07, which I believe I have to delete/roll back to Vs1.05, before updating to 1.08/1.09.
Is voip working in-game?
I have the UK 505 edition.

No, you dont need Queens Gambit.
I believe there should be a patch wich updates your version to 1.08 though, just look around a bit It would be pretty stupid if there wasnt one
VoIP is working ingame, i also have the 505 version

Tjhere is the beta patch 1.09 out already wich considerably imrpoves perfomrance and ingame VoIP. Having real directional voices with Lipsync just rocks

I believe there should be a patch which updates your version to 1.08 though,

Just looked around a bit, 1.07 was renamed 1.08 and in the process became necessary to roll back to 1.05 and build from there.
I'll check it out...
