RO2/RS Crash to desktop when joining a server

Hello,

I have had a problem that started about a month or so ago where RO2:RS crashes when trying to join a server. The game fires up ok, the server browser loads, but regardless of which server I try and join, the game crashes about three quarters of the way through joining a server (I am guess at the length of the join time based upon past server joining times). To try and fix this I have done everything I can think of from verifying the game cache through steam, deleted the user settings folder, and even uninstalled and re-installed the game. I checked in the C:\Users\Username\Documents\my games\RedOrchestra2\ROGame\logs folder but there are no crash dumps that are being generated when the game dies. It does however ask me if I want to send a crash report, which I said yes to. If there is any other information you could use to help me fix this issue, please let me know. I haven't been able to play in a while and would like to get back into it.

Thanks,
-Marek

Ok, so after following the instructions in the following thread, I was able to join servers without issue: http://forums.tripwireinteractive.com/showthread.php?t=58308

I only needed to change the bInitializeShadersOnDemand to True to get it to work again.

However, I find it odd that it is an out of memory related crash as [TW]Strago suggested. My card has 2GB of RAM on it which is far more than most cards have by default and it still crashed. If it is system RAM he is referring to, I have 16GB and I never user more than 60% of it even with RO running.
