You may have misinterpreted what I was saying.
I don't want Firebug to have recoil reduction, because after this next weapon improves their versatility, the recoil will act as the drawback for the perk. Much like long reloads are for Support, Lack of range for Beserker etc.

The firebug should very rarely need to use sustained fire. The secret of the firebug is ignite and run, to allow speicmens to burn out. Sustained fire is not very common at all unless you need to quickly mow down a bloat or siren bearing down on your teammates from behind or something.
Also, yes the recoil is high, but its not hard to control. The Firebug doesn't need to be all that accurate to get his damage. Just drag your mouse down like you would in CSS to control the recoil, once you get it, you don't even notice it.
I honestly don't know, but I can't stand the Flamethrower's iron sight viewmodel. It takes up way too much of my screen and lowers my run speed. I always shoot from the hip.
