As bottcher is saying here my idea stems from his:
Only show scores from capping or recapping till the end of the round. Then you can show the final tally of kills and all of that. then there will be no remarks about who is a crap sniper and who has more kills because no one will really know till the end. But they will see who was putting in the work for the win and see how much your score goes up just for capping. On top of that noobs seeing the player in game that is high on the score board may be more likely to follow along knowing that that player is heading off to the real action. Not to toot my own horn but if you think about it this could revolutionize the teamwork aspect.
