Picked up max payne again.

I played both games a little bit(first few levels) for the PS2 when they first came out, and thought they were quite good. I always meant to follow up on them and finish them, but I never did.

This thread has got me thinking, though, for less than $5 I can get them both and play them on my PS3!

the blood trails are were the easiest part! Just follow the sound of the crying baby and it will lead you right through. The sound always comes from where you have to go in the dream sequences. Once I figured that out it was so easy.

I bought both games for my Xbox yesterday. Max Payne used for $3, and, this is the really good part, I got the second game NEW for $2! I'm really enjoying the first game so far. Like I said, I've tryed each before, but I never got very far into them. Very nice, though.

hehe i didnt even have to figure it out, i followed it by natural instinct lol later on i remember thinking why the hell everybody else is having such a hard time?

It wasn't so much not knowing where to go, but rather falling off.

I found in the second dream, the corners in the blood trail have less reliable collision than in the first dream and I would always fall just trying to walk around the corner. I had to jump from | to --- every time there was a joint.

I hated, hated, hated, the drugged levels. What a pain in the ass.

Very true. That and I hated a lot of the stupid dialogue too. But I had Sin City, so I suppose noir is not my style.

Max Payne was seriously one of the most annoying games I've ever played. Playing it without bullet time was next to impossible. Using the bullet time made the game easier, but boring. On the other hand, there was never enough bullet time to get you through the tough battles, so I always ended up trying to save as much as possible. It ended up being a process of fighting, dying, loading... fighting, dying, loading... then deciding to use the bullet time and fighting, dying, loading... fighting, dying, loading... and then finally squeaking past a section after the game had dumbed down the difficulty when it arbitrarily decided I had died enough.... ACK!.... Irritating!

there are still some nice mods for MP2
i had a "Equilibrium" Mod (matrix like style movie) and one tc mod called something like the serpent......looked great.
