It's a decent suggestion
It's original and I think it isn't too hard to implement. Wouldn't it be fun to know that the weapon you use has a unique touch?
What happens when you get some smart kid who decides to name his gun words of profanity, swears or something lame like 1337'erz?

can I put an RIS on my ppsh41 and mount a scope on it? I'd also like to put a bipod on it for looks, and maybe a laser on the side.

Speaking of customizable weapons:
I especially like that bird. It might not look like much, but it can fly ahead and scout the environment and clear the fog o' war for a limited amount of time. Doesn't cost much mana either.
