For those who don't know, M&B is a fairly realistic (no magic) medieval semi-RPG open ended third person combat focused indie game. You should all buy it. All versions allow unregistered users to play to level 6 as far as I know, so you can download this to give it a try if you like.

Seconded. I tried it, got to level 6 and bought it immediately. It's that good. There are also a number of great mods for it, a Lord of the rings mod to name one of the best.

Just from messing around in the arena I noticed some limited ragdolls. It looked like the entire model was locked in place as usual, but individual joints could interact with the ground to look a little more realistic than plain death animations. "Max Ragdolls" defaults to 0 in video options though, so you need to enable them.

Anyway, the main new feature is that you can now interact with like 5 different factions in much deeper ways than just "bring me 5 horses!" as before. It's much like the Battle for Sicily mod (they hired its author), just way less buggy.

I tried this out a while ago and couldn't find anything to do other than compete in the arena or escort merchants. (during which I faced a large group of bandits who beat me up and took me prisoner.) the game looked promising to me, but I as I said I couldn't find much to do, so I got bored of it quickly. should I give it another chance?

Played this quite a bit a while back, hell I even bought a licence.

But it got tiresome after reachin a level where I could easily kill hundreds of bandits but still didnt stand a chance against the regular soliders and knights... got kind of repetitive having to kill so many of them to rise in exp...

Plus it didn't really have any immersion like quests or interesting NPCs. But it was an early version, 6 months ago maybe, might give it another try.

Guess not, as savegames are not compatible, so I doubt the mods will work.

Ragdolls do work fully, I lied before. They're just not very noticeable in most cases. When fighting on sharp inclines the bodies slide all the way down satisfyingly.

And yes, everyone who tried it before, you should try it again. The grand gameplay is changed completely from before. The combat is mostly the same though. It's now more of a military game, but there are some unfortunate stubbed features that will hopefully be added soon.
