PC Negative damage stats (Shotguns?)

I've been getting consistently negative damage stats from shotgun weapons since last patch. Playing Coop vs AI even on the official servers.

I checked this out just now, I think it has something to do with blowing up Husk backpacks.

Launch any map on Hell on Earth, enable cheats, spawn a husk, blow up its backpack then suicide to end the game. You should have a total of about -6400 damage dealt.

I had -600k damage. Does that mean I killed more than 100th of husks?

So I did a little testing in this video.

Looks like using shotgun + grenades messes up the score though some things still feel off.

I think this is happening because of the resistance system. Because zeds don't take full damage from weapons it's counted as subtraction.
