I'm just trying to get a feel for how other medic players feel about the medic class.
Lately I've been running amok with Commando and Berserker and having a good time, but I have always been partial to healing as a medic, hence why I'm a level 4 medic (almost 5, huzzah!).
The problem is, being a medic makes me feel fairly uesless 80% of the time.
I'm good at keeping my team healed up during swarms of enemies and such, but when someone REALLY needs healing (getting pummelled by a group of guys), you can't heal as fast as they are getting mauled, and they get killed. It's almost as though I'd have been more of a help as a demo guy with a grenade launcher to clear the enemies then trying to heal someone who got surrounded.
Secondly, the MP7 is absolutely terrible at anything past the Gorefast. I know a medic isn't supposed to be a murder machine, but we get 1 weapon, and we get absolutely no damage modification on this gun? And it's THAT weak?
I wouldn't be so sad about having a weak gun if I received more than one, however. Especially since I run out of MP7 ammo almost every wave past wave 3 because of how many rounds I need to put into certain enemies... and yes, I use controlled bursts, but certain enemies take a lot of rounds with the MP7 and the MP7 requires you to basically be within kissing distance to be effective if the enemy requires more than 3 headshots.
Again, I realize that the heavy combat is for the combat classes, and that's cool.... but being a medic is becoming very boring, yet seems to be somewhat necessary, as I watch all my friends laying waste to hordes of enemies as I just pick off little clots and occasionally shoot a needle across the map into a friend's buttcheek.
