You might be on to something 7-CLOWN-7,
Some of the textures used in the screenshots have mip mapping (compression) disabled, because the first "brewing" destroyed resolutions horribly. The entire tower and cottage's thatched roofs as examples.
I'll try compressing them with the current brew and see if FPS improves. For GPU's with less than 2 gigs the uncompressed textures would cause FPS issues due to memory over-runs. Since I have a GTX670, I wouldn't notice it.
I have an old rig with a GTX 295 that I'll give the map a going over with, it only acts as my test server ATM because PIE (play in editor) and playing over a LAN changes a lot of things, always for the worse. My first test runs with wheat fields were 4-5 FPS, no matter where you were on the map. I was getting around 45 FPS in the current release.
There are also a few emmitters (smoke and dust), and dynamic light elements (clouds and light shafts), that may be dragging the FPS down in those screenshots. Those will also be under investigation.
Three animated actors, that could also get axed, are the windmill (rotator), big doors on the long house (movers, shoot the red star with a HE round!), and flag (cloth actor). Each drop FPS a few points. But these are in the tank version, and the hit isn't a big one like Romano experienced.
Don't suppose anyone notices the flag changes based on who owns the Iron Mine?
