Man-eater: online survival-mode
Online players must work together, to survive each wave by killing and consuming all enemies.

Online survival-mode details:

• Maximum number of players enabled to join the survival-lobby: (5). The more players, the harder the survival.

• Players are enabled to join lobby, during early waves of the survival: 5 to 10.

• Mode being playable, with or without online players. This allows players to play via online and offline activities.

• A total of: (50 waves).

• Wave 10, 20, 30, 40 & 50 having challenging boss fights. Each wave, enemies get an increase in health and deal more damage.

• Defeating each boss, gives all players 4500 mutagens, minerals, fats and proteins.

• Bosses can regenerate and use evolution power-ups.

• Hunters, helicopters, submarines and creatures spawn, ranging from normal to mutated e.g. shadow orca, bone sperm-whale electric great-white etc..

• Each wave getting harder, as players survive.

• Players getting rewarded, for surviving all 50 waves and the player that kills the most enemies gets the highest score / rewards e.g. nutrients.

• Players that die during a wave, can be resurrected if other players survive till the next wave.

• While a player is dead, they are able to spectate other players.

• Level select for survival-mode and time of day. Plus additional areas:

Mariana-trench, arctic etc..
The Trench Theme: Horror Ambience..

Bonus ideas:

New evolution ideas (1):

1708718762253.png

Volcanic-shark having the ability to shoot magma beams from its mouth, similar to atomic-set but with magma.
The Ice-shark:
The Ice-evolution can be a similar idea, but with ice-breath which freezes nearby enemies.

More wild-life, e.g. Colossal-squids, Blob-fish, Angler-fish, Fang-tooth fish, Viperfish, Black Dragon-fish, Jelly-fish, Blue-whales, Humpback-whales, Whale-sharks, Dolphins, Penguins, Elephant-seals, Polar-bears, Reef-sharks, Megalodons, Dunkleosteuses, Tiger-sharks, Livyatan Melvilleis and Krakens.

• Shark customisation, example: colours of each evolution set can be changed including the base shark. This’ll make your shark unique: online.

• Skin textures can be changed in colour and merged to evolution-sets e.g. bone head and other sets.

• Changeable eyes and eye colours.

• Customised evolution-sets can be saved.

• Shark growth level 100, for maximum size.

• Extra 2 organ slots.

• When shark reaches level 100, small boats can be thrashed within the shark’s mouth with people inside. Including: level 30 Orcas, level 45 Sperm-whales smaller than your size: (100).

• Organ evolution ideas:

• (Reinforced skin), projectiles, explosives and electric boats deal less damage.

• (Executioner), shark evolution power-up auto-fills.

• (Shape-shifter), during gameplay the shark can transform into custom-made evolution-sets by the press of L3. By pressing L3, the shark can transform into any evolution of the player’s choice.

This gives access to the evolution-wheel after the button is pressed, then from here the player is visually presented with every evolution the shark can transform into. When the evolution-wheel is on screen, the player must scroll using L3, then selecting an evolution pressing L3 again to transform the shark.
A perfect example brings forward GTA, an action shooter game which gives players access to a number of weapons via weapon-wheel selection. Man-eater can mimic this weapon-wheel idea, but with evolutions giving it its own sense of style as to evolution-selection.

Additional ideas for Man-eater:

- A weather system, ranging from violent storms, heavy-rain and foggy atmospheres. Bringing this weather system will make Man-eater more ambient and immersive, in terms of visuals. During the night apex predators roam the seas, giving the players a threatening experience.

- Online time-trials:
Players must simply, race to the finish-line with the requirement of the Shadow-evolution. Swimming through hoops gives the shark a boost of speed and fills the evolution power-up, allowing the player to speed up the shark by using the Shadow evolution’s natural ability, to increase momentum.

- Leaderboards:
This feature will allow players to compete via time-trials and survival-modes.

- Shark evolution publisher:
Custom-made evolution sets, can be published and shared online. Published evolutions, can be liked to increase the creation’s popularity.

- Online free-roam:
This mode will randomise survivals, missions and time-trials, keeping online players engaged. Man-eater as a whole will have a variety of things to do.

Man-eater ideas..

Hunting-mode (offline-play):

This mode should be triggered for side missions to occur, by interacting with the buoy upside the grotto. This’ll trigger a multitude of random side-missions that enable the player to follow a set of tasks which can be re-played by interacting with the buoy again, once set-missions are complete.

These side-missions can be randomised and vary from devouring human-swimmers, apex predators or killing hunters to earn nutrients etc. This mode will keep players busy, when the main game is finalised allowing side-missions to be a turn-to.

This mode can only be unlocked, after completing the main game.

How (New Game Plus) Should Work:

All collected proteins, fats, minerals and mutagens should be transferred to new game plus save file.

Shark size is reset to “Pup,” to restart the growing process.

All upgrades of each evolution-set is reset back to tier 1, but upgrading evolutions in new game plus are for free and don’t require nutrients. As the shark could grow to the next required-size instead, to unlock the next upgrade tier for free.

A evolution-set must be fully upgraded, to unlock free access to upgrades in new game plus for that specific evolution.

(Collectibles):

All Landmarks, Nutrient Caches, Licence Plates and Questers aka: Tin Foil Hats remain complete and collected in new game plus.

Time trials are replay-able to allow the players to try and beat their time and set a new record.

Man-eater (Log List Details):

All cutscenes are reset.

All population control missions are reset.

All apex predator missions are reset.

All revenge missions are reset.

All hunt missions are reset.

All visited grottos are reset and hidden again.

Investigate-area missions are reset.

Failure to Communicate Missions are reset.

Boss battles are reset.

All Bounty Triggers and Infamy Ranks are reset.

New game plus, also affects downloadable-content e.g. Truth-quest and resets all missions while collectables and nutrients gained from previous save files remain untouched.

Additional ideas; Shark age: XL Mega

When the bull shark reaches this age, a new set of capabilities are unlocked. E.g. double tail whip from holding and releasing (L1). This will trigger the shark to charge a powerful tail-whip-attack, rotating backwards to forward motion and automatically rotating an opposite direction a second time to do the final tail-whip which does devastating damage.

The XL Mega can air-lunge four times.

Increased max speed, acceleration bonus, swim speed and evade speed increase.

Health bar increased in length.

Survival time on land increased.

Bite damage increased by 30%.

XL Mega Physique:

Shark has a thicker build and brawnier physique, scars and burn marks are fully healed with new skin textures.

Age: XL Mega

(Additional Ability Upgrades):

Hyper mode capabilities-

Each time the shark kills and consumes prey, it can temporarily increase its overall speed. (Maximum speed stack 10), stacks decrease at -1 every 20 seconds. This ability will help the default-shark build momentum and speed, improving its agility.
A speed stack is added per kill by +1. When maximum stack is reached, the shark gets an immense increase in acceleration-bonus.

Age XL Mega Lvl (100), size estimation:

Man-eater: Animal Bios
This feature will give information, about each and every creature in Man-eater. The Bull Shark must simply eat a creature, to unlock its bio in view mode. Creatures can be (rotated and viewed), by zooming in.

New Evolution ideas (2):

Alien Shark Evolution:
Power-up: Burning Acid..
When player activates evolution, the shark is able to spit flesh-eating acids which burn enemies, gradually destroying boats and slowing them down. On bite acids are released into prey, causing organ failure. This includes a massive release in acids, also exiting the shark’s skin-pours. So not only the shark spits acids, but acids are released into the water as-well through the shark’s skin.

1708461785515.png
Demon Shark Evolution:
Power-up: Invincibility..
When player activates evolution, the shark radiates a black aura becoming invincible for temporary time. Overall damage is multiplied by 5, e.g. bite damage, thrash-damage, tail-whip etc.

Man Eater, Shark Accessories:

This feature enables players to add attachments to their Bull Shark, e.g. hook stuck in the mouth, chain entanglements around the shark’s body or harpoon-projectiles stuck on the shark’s upper body. Other accessories include rope and other materials, such as tracking devices.

Examples:

Man-eater: (Creation Mode);

This mode will enable players to create and publish their own levels via online, by using: Creation Mode.

This will introduce a multitude of different props and other objects of choice being manually placed in different regions of an empty level-layout, which the player has to fill in and bring to life.

Other options include wildlife, allowing players to choose a location to where a creature will spawn during gameplay. Creature skins can also be altered and chosen by the player’s likings, giving creatures a unique design.

A 2D Platform game aka (LBP): Little Big Planet, allows these expressions. Another example brings forward: Modnation Racers, which allows track-creations, which can be published online for players to explore. Man-eater could do the same, following its own style. This will give players an infinite number of oceans to explore, keeping Man-eater interesting with continuous exploration. Other creations include, custom-made survivals & time trials.

Man-eater: Online Versus Mode..
Reference: Jaws iOS Game App..

Inspired by Agar.io, Jaws.io is a multiplayer game where the goal is pick up or eat (depending on whether the player is controlling a ship or a shark) as much as possible,[4] in order to obtain the highest score in time-limited matches.[5] Players would take on the role as the captain of a boat rescuing civilians of Amity Island stranded out at sea.[5] As players sailed around picking up civilians, they were to use power-ups to combat against other boats as well as the titular Jaws.[6]Players would also be given the opportunity to transform into Jaws for a short period in the match to wreak havoc against other opponents.[6] The gameplay used touch controls to maneuver around in a manner similar to that of games found in the .io gamegenre with comparisons drawn towards Slither.io and Agar.io.[7]

Thanks Mike, I appreciate that. Hopefully they will continue the game, as it has much potential to grow. The game is full of theories and references, hopefully Tripwire will consider all my ideas to keep Man-eater going. If you can send Man-eater fans links to this page full of ideas, e.g. YouTube that’ll be great if you will. By doing so, this page will likely be noticed. Finnivus, is one of those fans spreading ideas as well if you’re interested, here’s the link:

i think we should get more of the standard shark types too would be nice to see more options maybe even a store with in game currency earned through eating special items in order to buy them

It’s a good idea, to have more of a variety of sharks to play-as but this won’t change the gameplay as much. Players will still be swimming the oceans, eating and killing humans per usual. Unless, the devs can create new shark skins / evolutions which mimic a new species, e.g. Atomic Evolution which looks like a Hammer-head Shark via Truth Quest DLC. Rather than creating a whole new shark from scratch, though it’s a good idea.

You just gave me an idea.

A Saltwater-Crocodile will be more ideal, as it is a land and water reptile. This will allow players to play on land and in water, giving a slight difference in gameplay! Rather than the Shark, spending mere seconds on land. Additionally, this gives players exploration on land, maybe the devs can create battle tanks etc to take on the mutated Croc. Take the (2018 film): Rampage as an example, giant crocodile attacking a city, having its own type of mutation and evolution just like the Bull-Shark in Man-eater. As for its mutation it can breathe in water and on land. Aside that, perhaps the Croc can have its own story-line and DLC.. Here’s the link and reference:

Feel free, to tell me your thoughts.
