Assuming that he died just because he was close to explosion doesn't mean you're right. Plenty of people miracously survive explosions and fatal car crashes in real life, not very hard to believe this even more so with a game which features sharks that evolve/mutate.

Also, the devs strongly hinted that Kyle may not be dead.

Of course you think it is evil to kill a shark that has killed thousands of innocent humans. LOL

Now, forgiving the shark? That WOULD be evil.
Kyle didn't want to harm sharks regardless of their kill streak, this was stated in game around the beginning. He understood the nature of the shark was to kill, that's the instinct, the natural ability. He even hinted that Pete may regret cutting the baby shark at some point.

Pete on the other hand enjoyed killing sharks for pleasure, whether they killed humans by the thousands of not. This was reflected as well.

In real life, sharks very rarely attack humans. So the shark in the game is an exception to most sharks. Killing her to stop her from killing more beachgoers makes sense.
