Gun mods

@Zerethon
Agreed.

@Herborist
As additional elements are added, the game becomes that much harder to balance. Adding even 5 gun mods that change the gun in any moderate way have to be checked in combination with every weapon set and perk on every difficulty. Not that I think it's a bad thing if it takes a lot of time to do but that the time it would take is not worth the player level increase in playability. Factor other things like trader complications (modding guns would take much more of an interface than additional weapons; ie selecting which gun to mods, selecting which mod you want, and purchasing it) and it would seem way too complicated.

It is in the general opinion of the high-level KF Players that adding more modifications to the game is a terrible idea

The guns are fine, Modifications start making imbalance more obvious and taking away from some of the "Feel" of the game (Adding crosshairs through a laser to every weapon, for instance)

no need to complicate the trader and simplify the already very simple game

So, what? You guys want the game to just stagnate? What's the point in that?

There are already enough maps, so the only things left to add are guns. Gun modifications add specialization to the game without disrupting balance as much as an entirely new gun would.

The current drum is the most extended clip for aa12 already. Others have 10(I think) magazine.

Time, well, buyer beware?

Realism: all recent weapon have the rail system, allow almost anything to be place on them, from bi-pod to scope or noob tube, etc. Very real. Obviously, if you put on a noob tube, you lost hand grip and have more weight, thus lose accuracy and more recoil. Things could be balance that way.

More weight = more recoil? Realism? :D
